"Amelia — The First Skirt
The first in the collection was a dramatic white half-circle maxi, named Amelia after aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. I crafted it from a retired parachute I found in a military supply store—an "out of the blue" discovery. That moment marked the beginning of my journey in transforming retired military parachutes into couture.
Today, I work with both operational and training parachutes—retired from duty but rich with the stories of flight, descent, and resilience.
A camouflage parachute surprised me with a hidden pattern of sunflowers. Were they landing in fields of blooms?" -Deborah Lindquist
Invisible side zipper closure, hook waistband.
Deborah loves upcycled materials, and especially loves retired military parachutes. And the fabrics are not only upcycled, they are vegan.
Seam details vary according to the original fabric construction.
